Decided to set off for the historic town of Harndorf this morning. Was quite a busy little town with very little parking and lots and lots of people ambling up and down the footpaths. Lots of charming old building many of which have changed purpose several times - the ice creamery used to be the butchers. Wandered up and down the street spying out little fun things to explore - the cuckoo shop - we saw one of the clocks go off but they were all set to different times. As we wandered the kids ate their way through several pre packed sandwiches in an effort to ward of the cry of "Mum, I'm hungry"
We found a little shop called Pot Belly Pies which has won the SA best pie competition several times - so we decided to stop there for some lunch - Darrin had an Aussie Beef pie and Jeanette had Lamb, Rosemary and Mint - we have to say that they really were VERY VERY good pies. A quick trip to the ice cream shop where the kids had a little scoop of home made ice cream in a little paper cup with a spoon -tasted really good as the ice cream did not last long at all.
Home for naps and an easy afternoon around the caravan. Much more pleasant temp today -24 with a gentle breeze.
Glad you all had a better nights sleep. The pies sound really yummy. Love Catherine, Darren and kids
